How not to use words
Three snippets from today
“The Tasman bridge is moving well”- in relation to traffic flow
“They can’t return to the status quo they used to have”- a British diplomat talking about Burma

November 2 2008
Last night was the first night in the new flat.
The television has arrived as well as the table, chairs, washing machine and dryer. Lots of boxes came on Tuesday and we have even unpacked some of them.
There are significant areas of empty floor space now to be seen; not downstairs yet where the books are though.
I found the switch for the off-peak heater so we should start to get some warmth into the unit as well.
Magnificent view over the Derwent. Yachts out in force last night with enough wind to see some spinnakers.
